Learning how to Stunt, the basics and the advanced
Ever wanted to learn how to fly a plane but never know how to start or need some tips of how to do so? This may be of some help to you. I'll be giving a brief overview of how to stunt, both upright and upsidedown.
Crashing over hundreds of times when trying to master stunts is extremely common, no-one ever picks it up straight away and no-one can’t crash, it’s only minimised by your ability of control and stability.
To start off, you need to be comfortable being able to use ALL possible rudders/ailerons on the plane, also controlling the speed. A good and successful stunt requires a controlled approach.
The view you choose to fly in is optional, however I prefer to always fly in the cabin (1st person) view. Why? It's the easiest way to line up the plane, and easiest to control it when stunting as you see objects sooner and it is easier to avoid collision. What makes it the best view though is that the camera is fixed, so it moves with the plane.
There are 8 primary keys you should be familiar with and always use then flying. These are; Speed up, speed down, rudder left, rudder right, aileron up, aileron down, aileron left, and aileron right. This is excluding the landing gear key as when stunting this is not important. If you are not using all of these, you are already at a serious disadvantage when it comes to your control.
What keys should you get used to?
For the majority of people the best configuration is using the w/a/s/d and left/right/up/down arrow keys. W is throttle up, S is throttle down, A is rudder left, D is rudder right, Arrow up is aileron up, Arrow down is aileron down, Arrow left is aileron left, Arrow right is aileron right. Any key config is fine, only as long as you can utilise all 8 keys in sync perfectly.
How and where should i start?
Starting off you should pick one plane and only fly high getting used to it's 'feel' (all planes have different reactions, i.e. some can barrel role really fast and some really slow.). Simply fly high and try to use all keys to gain controlled flights and experiment what each key does to the planes movement, applying it to what it’s purpose is and benefits it has.
First stunts.
Start off flying under bridges, reasonably elevated roads and weaving between skyscrapers. What will this do? This will test and train yourself to gain control over the plane.
When flying under bridges:
Try to avoid using the aileron left and right keys (arrow left and right), this will often cause one wing to hit the bottom of the bridge due to the plane banking. Only use the aileron left/right to level the plane. Use the aileron up and down to control the height in which your at, always approach the bridge when beginning with the plane level. If heading towards a pillar, use the rudder left and right to turn as this does not effect the planes banking angle, only turns it in small radiuses. Of course if collision is known to happen, abort and pull out.
Flying under elevated road - beginning
First fly under - Little skill required
First fly under 2 - beginning of when skills emerge (need good control over height of plane)
Flying under elevated road upside-down - Little skill required
Flying upside-down under bridge 1 - Little skill required
Flying upside-down under bridge 2 - Requires skill
Taking it to the next level (elevated road) (have fun and play around - requires little skill
Taking it to the next level bridge 1 (have fun and play around) - Requires some skill
Taking it to the next level bridge 2 (have fun and play around) - Requires skill
Flying between skyscrapers:
Just a quick fly through - sorry video wouldn’t go for longer, but you get the idea.
Get used to all keys, this will ensure tightest turnings. What keys pressed makes the tightest turn in a plane? i.e. when turning left pressing w (throttle up), spamming a (rudder left - DONT hold), arrow left (banking left) and arrow down (aileron up). For this to be the tightest turn the plane needs to be banked between 90 and 70 degrees.
Here is what a tight turn looks like - When mastered you can rape any player when turning and burning.
Outside
Inside
Once this is sorted, you can start practicing flying through bridges. This takes far more control. To start this off there is a much easier way to start, as shown in the videos below. There shouldn’t be a need to use the left/right ailerons.
Flying over bridge 1 unsteadily (to show how to control plane properly when unsteady)
Flying over bridge 2 unsteadily (to show how to control plane properly when unsteady)
Flying over bridge 1 steadily
Flying over bridge 2 steadily
Once this is sorted you are perfectly set to fly through the bridge, if you were within the bridge boundaries this should be no different, just there is a now height restriction.
Flying through bridge - Skill required
Once that is completed, you can practice flying upsidedown through bridges, to see what is possible check out my Rustler/Rustler upsidedown compilations to visualise what can be achieved with practice. When flying upsidedown through bridges, you need to use ALL 8 keys to be able to exit bridges/tunnels without being blasted. As when upsidedown any plane tries to roll over, and you must be able to counteract that. Also keeping in mind that 2 of the 8 keys are reversed, which is the aileron up/down. If able to master this, you are more then just good at the basics, but close to mastering it.
When practicing flying upsidedown through bridges try doing a similar technique to when flying through, which is, fly above it upsidedown first.
Heres what you should do.
When you think you’ve mastered your flying skills upload a video of your own one of these stunts in a plane of your choice - Make sure you have traffic on the roads

Thanks blackbeard, surprised you didn't write an essay on what was wrong with it
Re: Learning how to Stunt, the basics and the advanced
Haha probably because flying is not my specialty and I didn't read it all
but hey I don't always criticize I also agree and say good things sometimes you know

Re: Learning how to Stunt, the basics and the advanced
This was supposed to be learning how to stunt (so expect the easy ones as that was the point), with one challenge. I cant go straight into hard stunts without showing people the basics of how to begin to stunt otherwise how is it a tutorial? Hard stunts weren't shown here as these are the foundations to learning them yourself, Harder stunt require you to take these basic skills to the next level, with practice.
Videos of 'harder'' stunts are found here: (More will be uploaded soon as well, been practicing)
Ruster - https://lordsofwar.darkbb.com/t563-rustler-upsidedown-compilations
Hydra - https://lordsofwar.darkbb.com/t572-hydra-upsidedown-compilations
Would be great to see your skills in-game,
CJS.
